Delhi-based sports discovery platform and events company HUDLE has received an undisclosed amount as investment from sports industry stalwart Joy Bhattacharjya, who will also be an advisor to the company. A panellist on the Cricbuzz video platform and the CEO of the Pro Volleyball League, Bhattacharjya has over two decades of experience in the professional sports industry and has been the head of South Asia production operations at ESPN Star Sports and Team Director of Kolkata Knight Riders, in the IPL. He has also worked as the Project Director of the Local Organizing Committee of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, a hugely successful event which has immensely promoted the growth of grassroot football in India. “I have worked extensively in the professional sports space, which is at the apex of the sports ecosystem pyramid. However, being an active sportsperson and runner myself, I feel that one can achieve immense impact by solving the problems of the many amateur sportspersons in India, which is the focus area for Hudle. What is exciting is that Hudle is a tech platform, but has a strong offline model as well,” said Bhattacharjya.
Hudle was set up four years ago with the vision of making Indians sportier and uses cutting edge technology to solve the problems of millions of amateur sportspersons. It has a consumer platform for people to book sports facilities, events, coaching sessions, etc. and a partner platform to help sports facility owners seamlessly manage their operations. Hudle is also known for its corporate sports events, team building activities and coaching sessions for adults helping them learn new skills and get fitter. “I have grown up looking up to Joy and we are absolutely ecstatic to have him as a mentor and investor at Hudle. His credibility and expertise will immensely help us in this phase of our growth’, says Suhail Narain, Founder, Hudle.
Hudle is currently in Delhi-NCR and will soon be expanding to other markets. It has over 200 venues listed on its platform. To know more, visit www.hudle.in.
