Chief National Coach for the Indian National Badminton Team, Padma Bhushan Pullela Gopichand and Indian Professional Football Club Bengaluru FC’s team of coaches will mentor budding sportspersons of the country as part of the National Scholarship Program 2022-23 launched on Wednesday, 1st of December 2021 by The Sports School – India’s 1st Integrated School for Sports & Academics.
To discover sporting talent in the country and nurture future champions with world-class facilities, The Sports School (TSS) has launched a 2022-23 National Scholarship Program for Football and Badminton. The Scholarships will be awarded to close to 20 eligible students in the age category of U-11, U-13, U-15 & U-17 for Badminton and U-12, U-14 & U-16 for Football on the basis of their potential in the sport. The students will be evaluated based on their attitude, commitment, sporting achievements and their performance in the trials, to be held at The Sports School in January.
The selected athletes will receive up to 100% scholarship covering both sports training and academics and get a chance to train in The Sports School’s International level Infrastructure with highly skilled and certified coaches. Training facilities for Badminton and Football at TSS include 12 International Standard Wooden Indoor Synthetic Badminton Courts and 108m x 68m FIFA Quality Pro Certified Artificial Turf Football Field respectively. Addition to education and training, the athletes will be provided with sports science assistance and hygienic nutrition in the campus to support their overall development.
Scholarship Details:
- Upto 100% Scholarship to be offered, based on trial performance, sports achievements, and other selection criteria
- Scholarship to cover academic and sports fees only. All other variables, like hostel, uniforms, mess charges etc., to be charged as per the fee structure
- Last date to apply – 10th December, 2021
- Trial dates will be announced via email to the selected applicants
- Trials will be held at The Sports School Campus in Kanakapura Road, Bangalore, tentatively in the first week of January
